Examination of Lung Parenchyma by Electron Microscopy
author
Abstract:
In this paper many of the principal structure of the Moral Lung were studied with the help of Electron Microscopy. Detailed description was given of Granular Pneumocytes, Membranous Pneumocytes, Macrophages, and Alveolar Capillaries. A discussion followed on the form and function of Granular Pneumocytes. Acknowledgements I am grateful to the Reza Shah Pahlavi Foundation for its generous support of this study, and to Dr. S. C. McDonald for his advice in this paper.

Isolation of Herpetosiphon giganteus and Ultrastructure Analysis by Electron Microscopy
Herpetosiphon giganteus is a filamentous gliding bacterium. Gliding motility is the movement of the cells over surfaces without the aid of flagella. The mechanism responsible for bacterial gliding motility has not been known and there are only a few data on Herpetosiphon giganteus. The aim of this study was to observe the ultrastructure and negative staining of isolated strains of Herpetosiphon...
full textPreparation of Drosophila specimens for examination by transmission electron microscopy.
There is no single, simple procedure for fixing and embedding all tissues for transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The chemistry of different cell types is to some extent unique, and this affects the way each cell type reacts to the wide array of fixatives, buffers, organic solvents, and resins used in TEM specimen preparation. A recurring theme in those organisms or cell types that are diff...

Interaction of lithium and gentamicin in salivary gland by electron microscopy and protein and DNA measurement
The effects of gentamicin, lithium and combination of these drugs on ultrastructural morphology of rat submandibular glands were studied. Daily intraperitoneal injection of 40 mg/kg of gentamicin which causes chronic salivary gland toxicity, led to a marked decrease in gland's dry weight and total protein concentration but did not affect DNA content. Electron micrograph (EM) of submandibular ...
